Designing to empower with Bottletop

I work with Bottletop creatively, producing beautiful and purposeful design solutions to make positive change happen. Together we blend design with techniques across cultures. We stand to make a difference with sustainable fashion.

Bottletop produce high quality luxury handbags from zero deforestation leather and up-cycled ring pulls in Brazil. Training artisans from local communities with new skills and providing young people with education through the Bottletop Foundation.

I’ve been working closely with Bottletop creatively building their brand presence globally. I’ve individually shaped Bottletop’s brand experience across multiple touchpoint, to create memorable moments for customers and increase brand awareness and engagement. I’ve helped Bottletop to tell their story to the world in simple, effective ways showing what Bottletop stands for, sustainable fashion that looks great, but does good too. Showing the impact this has on the world and to people’s lives and building a movement.

Signature moment: limited edition cans celebrating Bottletop x Narciso Rodriguez collaboration

Signature moment: 250 limited edition Pepsi cans & bottles were created in celebration of Bottletop’s collaboration with fashion brand Narciso Rodriguez sponsored by Pepsi. Available at the exclusive New York launch event in nude blush and classic matte black shades, mirroring the new collection and referencing the iconic Narciso Rodriguez fragrance bottles.

Africa's Out Pattern

Bottletop launched a series of limited edition designs featuring the powerful AFRICA’S OUT! emblem, created by leading artist, Wangechi Mutu which I art worked to form the pattern. The distinct AFRICA’S OUT! butterfly embodies the transformation of Africa through radical creativity, and the opening up of a new space. The collection reflects a desire to share and re-purpose high art, making it wearable and accessible and enabling the consumer to participate in the ultimate journey of each piece as it travels the world; adopting a new vocabulary and visual aesthetic as it is worn, loved and marked in its own unique way. Proceeds from these designs support Africa’s Out!

The Bottletop Brand Experience
Has a remarkability factor, something people would remember and remark upon. It creates curiosity from the contrast of using recycled ring pulls and hand craftsmanship to produce luxury bags which look extremely beautiful, sophisticated and elegant. This contrast is what makes Bottletop beautiful and intriguing. 

Bottletop is about simplicity, despite the complexity of the change it’s trying to make in the world.
